The
Fauquier Free Clinic serves patients from low-income households in Fauquier
and Rappahannock Counties. Patients with Medicaid, Medicare, or other
insurance for health care are not eligible for our clinic.
If you live in a neighboring
county, you should seek out a free health clinic in your area. The Virginia
Association of Free Clinics has a directory to help you here.
Our services are provided
by volunteers. With the support of local specialist doctors and dentists,
local pharmacies, and the Fauquier Hospital, we can provide high quality
comprehensive care to you and your family. Although many of our services
are free for eligible patients, sometimes you will be asked to pay for
labs, x-rays, or other services provided somewhere that we have referred
you to. It is your responsibility to ask specialists and other health
care providers about any charges before you get the treatment.
You will never be required
to pay for services at the clinic itself, although you may choose to
make a small donation.
Please read the following
information carefully. If you have any questions, ask one of our volunteers.
Walk-in registration is from
5:30 to 6:30 pm each Thursday. You may call Thursday afternoon (540)
347-0394 between 12:30 and 2:00 pm to “preregister.” Clinics
during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday are by appointment. Just give
us a call to get scheduled.
A volunteer will ask about
your income, living arrangements, and any insurance coverage you might
have during our eligibility screening process. Free Clinic services
are available to low income families that live in Fauquier or Rappahannock
County, have no health insurance and no Medicaid or Medicare. We will
see any child under age 18 regardless of family circumstances.
You must provide
proof of where you live and the amount of your family’s income.
This is required for services and free medications. We are also available
on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 – 3:00 to help you complete our
paperwork.
We do not provide the same
services as the Health Department. If you need a school physical, immunizations,
maternity care, pregnancy test, HIV or TB testing, please contact the
Health Department at 540-347–6400 Monday through Friday from 9:00am
– 4:30pm. For PAP smears call 540-439–0060.
The doctors, nurses
and administrative staff are volunteers. Please take a moment
to thank them because without them we would not be able to open our
doors every week.
Prescriptions
that you are given here can be filled at one of our participating pharmacies
(Wal-Mart in Warrenton, Remington Drug Store, and The Plains Pharmacy).
Most laboratory tests and x-rays that you might need can be donated
by Fauquier Hospital.
Our doctors and dentists
take turns helping out at the Free Clinic. Do not contact the
doctor’s office with questions regarding follow-up care.
Any questions should be directed to the Free Clinic staff. Our telephone
number is (540) 347–0394.
We look forward to serving
you!
