Where is the race?
See the directions page. Course maps are available here.
Will there be water supplied?
Yes. Water stops on the 10K course are at miles 2.5 and 5. Mile 5 for the 10K runners coincides with Mile 2 for the 5K runners, so that water stop will serve both runs. Drink plenty and don't get dehydrated, it's summertime!
Is the course open to vehicles?
Yes it is! The Fauquier County Sheriff's Department will help with traffic, and we will have signs and flags posted, but the course is open to vehicles. Use caution and stick to the side of the road! You are responsible for your own safety... it's just a friendly race, nothing worth taking silly chances over!
Can I walk? How long will the course be open?
Yes, you can walk the 5K. The course is "open" up to about 16 minute/mile pace, meaning that the water stops will be manned and the timer will be running.
What's the race day schedule?
Registration table opens at 7:00 am. Runners should be parked, checked in, and ready by 8:00 am. Kids' run at 8:20 am, 5K start at 8:30 am, 10K start at 8:40 am. The race is going on, RAIN or SHINE!
Who will take care of my kids while I am running?
We cannot provide child care! You are responsible for your children, whether they are participating in the kids' run or not. Please bring someone along to watch them if they need supervision.
What about prizes, medals, trophies?
There are no cash prizes in this race. Trophies will go to the top male and female finishers in the 5K and the 10K races. Kids' fun runners will get their t-shirts, but no trophies or medals. Medals for first and second place will be given in ten year age groups in the 5K and 10K races, ie, 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, etc.
Who gets the proceeds from the run?
All proceeds benefit the medical and dental patients of the Fauquier Free Clinic.
